Enhancing a legacy platform with application migration and modernization
The problem
The client’s legacy infrastructure and online platform for ordering applications faced performance and scalability challenges. Manual testing of new features prolonged their time-to-market, resulting in a declining user experience. The solution
The client redesigned and built a microservices-based, cloud-native platform. It modernized existing web and mobile apps, re-architectured them for third-party integrations, and built a new super app that provided a secure, personalized user experience. The redesign allowed users to easily schedule appointments and review prescriptions while enhancing performance-related tasks across an integrated ecosystem.
Furthermore, migrating legacy applications to Microsoft Azure expanded the organization's reach into emerging markets. In addition to Azure, the solution required expertise in Go, Flutter, React, .NET, DevOps, Sitecore, Selenium, BrowserStack, and JMeter. User interactions from its mobile app were seamlessly integrated with Azure Insights and CleverTap. This integration was complemented by delivery-tracking through Zyllem and the successful implementation of a new CMS and SSO solution.

The result
Backed by the redesigned cloud-native platform, order checkout and product catalog display times improved by 90%, while the new microservices-based architecture eliminated all security vulnerabilities. The platform also became capable of multi-country, multi-environment deployments, increasing new feature deployment speed by 50%.
The applications now boast several new and enhanced features, including a symptom checker, mental wellness services, lab test bookings, and vaccination and COVID-19 testing services. The automation introduced by the new QA CoE reduced the time necessary for testing applications from 1 hour to 10 minutes. This new automation suite also streamlined reporting, saving 6 hours daily.
