Job description
Job responsibilities
- Leverage company data and drive business solutions
- Contribute to mining and analyzing large data sets
- Assess accuracy and efficiency of data sources and data accumulation techniques
- Develop custom data models and algorithms in collaboration with software engineers
- Improve and optimize customer experience, revenue generation, ad targeting, etc. with predictive data modeling
- Develop A/B testing framework to test data model quality
- Monitor data modeling outcome to analyze data accuracy and scale performance
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data science(rare exceptions for exceptionally skilled professionals)
- Fluent with database queries and statistical computer languages, like R, Python, SLQ, etc.
- Hands-on expertise in using web services, including Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.
- Prolific knowledge of using tools like Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Adwords, Facebook Insights, etc. to analyze data from third-party resources
- Proven expertise in data collection, organization, analysis, and dissemination of a large amount of data
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Comfortable with working full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Familiar with modern statistical techniques and concepts
- Exposure to popular BI tools, like Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Clear concepts of machine learning, Hadoop, and other Big Data tools
- Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, C, C++, and other programming languages
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
