Job description

Job responsibilities

Assist with the technical design and planning for the development of Android applications
Develop and maintain Android applications following industry standards and best practices
Develop and implement new features and functionality as required
Triage issues and implement bug fixes for Android applications
Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Work with outside data sources and APIs
Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
Follow the application development best practices while maintaining the structure and documentation
Implement functionality and features that meet the project requirements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of Android app development experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Strong coding experience with Java and Kotlin
Expertise in architectural patterns like MVVM, VIPER
Strong knowledge of Android SDK and different versions of Android
Strongholds of core software components, including networking, storage/file system, security, memory management, multi-threading, and application lifecycle management
Experience in integrating web services using REST and JSON
Wide knowledge of common third-party libraries and APIs
Fluent in English to communicate effectively
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Experience with server-side programming
Track record of publishing one or more Android apps on Playstore
Good organizational and communication skills
Experience working in an Agile environment
