Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Assist with the technical design and planning for the development of Android applications
  • Develop and maintain Android applications following industry standards and best practices
  • Develop and implement new features and functionality as required
  • Triage issues and implement bug fixes for Android applications
  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Follow the application development best practices while maintaining the structure and documentation
  • Implement functionality and features that meet the project requirements

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of Android app development experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Strong coding experience with Java and Kotlin
  • Expertise in architectural patterns like MVVM, VIPER
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK and different versions of Android
  • Strongholds of core software components, including networking, storage/file system, security, memory management, multi-threading, and application lifecycle management
  • Experience in integrating web services using REST and JSON
  • Wide knowledge of common third-party libraries and APIs
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Experience with server-side programming
  • Track record of publishing one or more Android apps on Playstore
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
