Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to create custom Elasticsearch analyzers, tokenizers, and tailored field mappings
  • Write scalable and effective code that complies with industry standards
  • Contribute to configuring Elasticsearch instance and Kibana dashboard
  • Understand and contribute to surrounding layers such as replication and search
  • Solve difficult issues, including performance or concurrency issues, and propose new solutions
  • Support the long term technical strategy and other core dependencies
  • Take ownership of creating and testing data-driven services and user interfaces
  • Work collaboratively with QA teams to troubleshoot and fix bugs that may arise

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive experience in Elastic REST API, Elastic NEST Client/Java Client v7+
  • Proficient with advanced scripting languages and Hot/Warm/Cold/Frozen architecture
  • Stronghold on analyzers, tokenizers, and custom field mappings
  • Sound knowledge of Kibana DSL and Query optimization/debugging
  • Demonstrable experience in C#, .NET Core, Java, etc.
  • Solid understanding of crafting APIs and complex aggregation queries
  • Prolific expertise in algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English with engineering managers
  • Comfortable with working full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Familiar with JDK internals, like class loaders, modules, security manager, Java memory model, etc.
  • Knowledge of Seccomp and other OS-level security mechanisms
  • Understanding of containers and Kubernetes
  • Excellent team player with experience working in an Agile environment
