Job description

Job responsibilities

Leverage latest tools and techniques to design, develop and implement Java-based applications
Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to determine application objectives, features, and functionality
Analyze the existing systems to maintain the availability, accessibility, security, and overall performance
Identify performance and efficiency gaps and suggest opportunities for architecture improvement
Accurately document the development process, architecture, and standard components for future reference
Troubleshoot by analyzing the issues, finding the root cause, and resolving them
Stay up-to-date with current trends and technology advancements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience working as a Java developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Strong understanding of OOP concepts, algorithms, and software design
Good understanding of JVM, JSP, servlets, multithreading, synchronization, memory management, etc.
Solid knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery
Skilled at SQL, relational databases, and ORM technologies (Hibernate, JPA2)
Fluency in English for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Sound knowledge of markup languages like XML and JSON
Experience working in a fast-paced and test-driven environment
Ability to find solutions to complex problems by collaborating with teams or working independently
Expert understanding of the entire SDLC
Team player with the ability to lead and initiate
