Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy low-latency and high-performance Java-based applications
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Perform software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging to ensure smooth functioning of the applications
  • Keep on researching the latest technologies and implement them for enhanced performance
  • Maintain documentation of end-to-end development process, architecture, and standard components
  • Update and enhance application features to optimize performance and boost functionality

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Java-based programming(rare exception for highly-skilled candidates)
  • Extensive experience in designing, building, and testing Java applications
  • Sound knowledge of OOP patterns and concepts, SDKs, APIs, and libraries
  • Good understanding of MVC pattern, Java database connectivity, and RESTful web services
  • Well-versed with front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, etc.
  • Proficient with code versioning tools, like Git, and building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc.
  • Fluency in English to ensure smooth communication with international teams/stakeholders
  • Work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of Java GUI frameworks like Swing, SWT, AWT
  • Foundational knowledge and experience with JVM, JSP, and servlets
  • Experience working with frameworks like Struts and Spring
  • Knowledge of deploying J2EE applications
  • Expert understanding of the entire development process
  • Good communication and organizational skills
