Job description
Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements in the BI context
- Develop detailed and insightful reports and analysis models to help the business make informed decisions
- Import data from distributed data sources and transform them into business intelligence solutions
- Apply DAX queries and functions in the Power BI desktop to enhance data models with calculations
- Develop, deploy, and administer BI solutions
- Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics
- Implement layered and robust security and data protection protocols to shield sensitive data from leaks
- Analyze and suggest technical/strategic changes to enhance current BI solutions
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date technical documents for future reference
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience working with Business Intelligence (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- High-level proficiency in creating analytical dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI or other data analytics tools like Tableau
- Extensive working experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects
- Strong knowledge of business intelligence stacks having SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS tools
- Knowledge of data analytics, data warehouse design, and data mining
- Familiar and experienced in SQL, ETL framework, database management systems, and online analytical processing (OLAP)
- Aware of JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries/frameworks.
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Capable of tackling complex problems independently or by collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
- Ability to learn and respond quickly in the fast-paced work environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and initiate
