Job description

Job responsibilities

Lead the engineering automation and orchestration of cloud tools and technologies
Guide junior developers in designing and building technical solutions on cloud
Contribute to planning, designing, and development of cloud-based applications
Maintain close communication with project owners and stakeholders to determine the needs for new initiatives
Share your expertise and assist in building scalable, distributed, and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions
Collaborate with solutions architects to install configuration, maintain and support applications in public cloud environments
Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as per development best practices throughout the SDLC

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Cloud engineer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Solid understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, Networking, Building environments, and Kubernetes
Experience in SRE with the ability to guide others to a more observable system
Demonstrable experience building release engineering tools and practices to ensure low MTTR
Profound understanding of large-scale distributed systems, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring, and storage systems
Prior experience in building on AWS products and infrastructure
Experience with software engineering, scripting, automation, and orchestration tools
Proficient understanding of PowerShell, Ansible, GitHub, Terraform, etc.
Fluency in English to collaborate with engineering managers and clients more effectively
Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) and a 4 hour overlap with US time zone

Preferred skills

Experience with virtual/cloud infrastructure and public and private Cloud technologies
Comprehensive knowledge of Golang code, testing, and production aspects
Experience in Kubernetes microservices and networking
Basic ideas of AWS RDS, Aurora, and Postgres database administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage a team and mentor junior engineers
