Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand demands, and determine the app functionalities and designs
  • Assist in developing new features and functionalities for front-end, database, and server integration to back-end
  • Add your expertise in the design & development, and customization of complex WordPress plugins
  • Create well-documented, reusable, and robust code and keep documentation for future reference
  • Make sure to conduct the unit tests and performance tests to ensure code quality, functionality, and availability of the application
  • Monitor live website performance and assist in fixing bugs and troubleshooting quickly
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in software development

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience in WordPress development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Strong understanding of WordPress, PHP, Ruby, and JavaScript
  • Proficient with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, jQuery, etc.
  • Expertise in building and integrating RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML
  • Working experience with multiple code versioning tools, like Git, SVN, etc.
  • Good knowledge of debugging tools like Chrome inspector, Firebug, etc.
  • Fluency in the English language for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of back-end development and website architecture
  • Familiar with WordPress editor React components
  • Clear idea about SEO principles and web analytics
  • Experience within an Agile development environment
  • Strong consultative, organizational, and time management skills
