Job description

Job responsibilities

Work closely with the development team to understand project requirements, deliverables, and success criteria
Transform the requirements into technical specifications and devise an automation test strategy
Develop and implement test cases, automated test scripts, and test script suites
Design and circulate standard guidelines or protocols for testing applications to ensure optimal performance
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and practices to overcome any gaps in the current automation testing strategy
Create and review test reports and communicate them with project managers/developers/manual testers and stakeholders

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience working as a test automation developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Thorough understanding of automation tools like Cucumber, Selenium, Katalon Studio, etc.
Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, PHP, JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.
Extensive experience in troubleshooting and debugging codes for optimal performance
Strong command over industry-standard Quality Assurance best practices and testing methodologies
Knowledge of database, APIs, and code versioning tools like Git
Fluent in English to communicate effectively
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Capable of performing highly accurate and detail-oriented testing without micromanagement
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to compile test reports
Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
