Job description
Job responsibilities
- Coordinate with engineers and analysts to formulate guided, multifaceted analytic studies against a large volume of data
- Participate in interpreting and analyzing data using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques
- Collaborate in research and analytic activities utilizing both unstructured and structured data points
- Conduct data experiments and share information based on experiment results
- Assist in developing project management methodology and processes for prioritization and scheduling of project deliveries
- Work closely with cross-functional business units and engineering teams to build a long term data platform architecture strategy
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience as a data scientist/data engineer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Well-versed with one or more high-level programming languages like Java, C++, Python, R, etc.
- Strong knowledge of data querying languages, like SQL
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis, report writing, and presentation
- Wide understanding of applying data science methods to real-world data problems
- Expertise in utilizing visualization tools to take advantage of a large amount of available information
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics, predictive analytics, software and data models development, data conditioning, etc.
- Proficiency in conducting big data analysis, programming advanced computing, developing and executing algorithms
- Fluency in English language for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Ability to handle stats-based modeling and ML modeling
- Familiar with Hadoop and other Big Data tools
- Proficient with BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Experience with applied statistics or experimentation, like A/B testing
- Proficient working in Agile software development environment
- Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills
