Job description

Job responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based applications
Understand application requirements and make changes accordingly
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle
Develop and implement web services using SOAP and REST
Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternative technologies and presenting them for architectural review
Make changes to Java infrastructure and create detailed documentation
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and teams to understand the requirements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of software development experience using Java as core technology (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Proficiency in Java technologies, including JDBC, JSP, Servlets, and EJBs
Proficiency with OOP patterns and concepts
Understanding of tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc.
Good understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, RESTful web services and JDBC (Java Database Connectivity)
Familiar with Spring frameworks
Adept with relational database and ORM technologies
Fluent in English to communicate effectively
Ability to work 40 hours/week with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Knowledge of technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JQuery
Adept with test-driven development
Familiar with version control tools like Git
Knowledge of Java GUI frameworks like Swing, SWT, among others
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
