Job description

Job responsibilities

Design and develop Java applications
Collaborate with Business Analysts to review and implement business requirements
Build and maintain automated test suites and assist in the design and development of backend microservices
Provide technical and operational support to existing web/mobile applications
Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and document system requirements
Perform development and unit testing to ensure better performance and scalability
Analyze existing Java infrastructure and recommend improvements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of experience in developing software applications using Java (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Experience developing software using the Spring or SpringBoot framework
Expertise in JVM, and Java EE platforms
Solid understanding of databases, including Oracle, MySQL
Strong knowledge of technical design, implementation, deployment, and support
Fluent in English to communicate effectively with engineers and clients
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Familiar with NoSQL datastores, like Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
Working experience with JavaScript/TypeScript web frameworks, like Vue, Angular, NativeScript, etc.
Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Proactive, self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment
