Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain web-based applications
  • Collaborate with the UX team to build innovative, state-of-the-art applications
  • Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools
  • Utilize back-end data services and contribute to increasing the existing data services API
  • Follow up with task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules along with technical and process issues
  • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a PHP/Laravel developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Excellent knowledge of Core PHP, object-oriented PHP, and Laravel 5 PHP Framework
  • Proven experience in writing server-side scripting in PHP
  • Hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and/or database-driven websites
  • Knowledge of software testing using PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat, etc.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, and experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, and REST API design
  • Fluency in English for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Ability to follow best design and coding practices
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, etc.
  • Experience in preparing design specifications/documents
  • Familiar with MySQL profiling and query optimization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
