Job description
Job responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain web-based applications
- Collaborate with the UX team to build innovative, state-of-the-art applications
- Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools
- Utilize back-end data services and contribute to increasing the existing data services API
- Follow up with task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules along with technical and process issues
- Maintain documentation of the entire development process, architecture, and standard components
- Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a PHP/Laravel developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Excellent knowledge of Core PHP, object-oriented PHP, and Laravel 5 PHP Framework
- Proven experience in writing server-side scripting in PHP
- Hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and/or database-driven websites
- Knowledge of software testing using PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat, etc.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, and experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, and REST API design
- Fluency in English for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Ability to follow best design and coding practices
- Knowledge of front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, and responsive front-end frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap), etc.
- Experience in preparing design specifications/documents
- Familiar with MySQL profiling and query optimization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly enthusiastic about learning new technologies and delivering results
