Job description

Job responsibilities

Analyzing user requirements and developing software systems using PHP language
Developing and implementing high-performance and secure web applications
Integrate user-facing elements with back-end
Develop efficient and reusable PHP modules
Identify and troubleshoot application and code bugs
Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability
Contribute and oversee all phases of the development lifecycle
Working closely with web designers to create the best user experience
Collaborating with front-end developers and other team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of software development experience using PHP (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Proficiency with various PHP frameworks, such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, etc.
Understanding of OOP and MVC architecture
Understanding of web technologies such as AJAX, HTTP, and REST
Good knowledge of version control tools such as Git, SVN, Mercurial, etc.
Familiar with relational and non-relational databases
Fluent in English to communicate effectively
Ability to work 40 hours/week with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Knowledge of technologies such as CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, etc.
Basic understanding of building or maintaining a CMS
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
