Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Participate in designing and developing high-volume and low-latency Java applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to be a part of all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Participate in software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
  • Engage yourself in continuous research in order to find new alternative technologies
  • Perform code reviews and architectural reviews and suggest improvements
  • Keep detailed documentation of end-to-end development process, architecture, and standard components
  • Update and improve application features to optimize performance, scalability, and functionality

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Java programming(rare exception for highly skilled candidates)
  • Sound knowledge of OOP patterns and concepts, SDKs, APIs, and libraries
  • Good understanding of designing, building and testing Java applications
  • Proficient with MVC pattern, Java database connectivity, and RESTful web services
  • Prolific expertise with front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery
  • Extensive experience with code versioning tools like Git
  • Strong experience working with building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc.
  • Fluency in English to ensure smooth communication with international teams/stakeholders
  • Work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Primary knowledge and experience with JSP, JVM, and servlets
  • Experience working with frameworks like Struts and Spring
  • Understanding of Java GUI frameworks like Swing, SWT, or AWT
  • Experience in deploying J2EE applications
