Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and project managers for project planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing
  • Diagnose and prevent performance and optimization problems, particularly at large scale software development projects
  • Take ownership of finding out the root cause for the most complex software issues and resolving technical problems of high scope and complexity
  • Ensure improvements to product quality, security, and performance of software applications
  • Mentor the junior engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and share feedback with stakeholders

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer(rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Proven expertise in designing, programming, and implementing large information systems
  • Experience with back-end programming languages including JavaScript, Java, Scala, Python, PHP, etc.
  • Knowledge of database and cache, Server, API (REST & SOAP), etc
  • Strong knowledge of low-level programming languages like C and C++
  • Good understanding of .NET framework and knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Hands-on experience with Visual Studio, Git, Jira, and multiple test automation tools
  • Well-versed with test-driven development and continuous integration
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of server-side experience with SASS and LESS
  • Solid understanding of accessibility and server compliance
  • Prior experience with large-scale software programming
  • Great technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent logical thinking, collaborative and team management skills
  • Ability to work within an Agile development environment
