Job description

A rapidly-growing company that is building a network of shops and brands that provide cross-promotion at the point of sale to reduce the price of customer acquisition, is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer. The engineer will be utilizing React to create scalable and maintainable online applications. The company's goal is to build the largest brand-to-brand network in the world that provides post-transaction shopping opportunities both locally and globally. The company has managed to securely raise AUS $323K during their Pre-Seed round of funding. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who thrive in a multifaceted, dynamic setting that uses a variety of tools and languages, and have a strong drive to quickly learn new subjects and skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for developing the main self-serve platform in accordance with the design and market requirements
  • Create products with high performance and data-driven in a cloud-native environment
  • Ensure project goals are met by working with cross-functional teams that include designers, developers, and project managers
  • Create responsive, interactive, and user-friendly online applications by writing clear, reusable code
  • To verify the quality and consistency of the code, perform code reviews, and give input to other engineers
  • Find and fix flaws and performance problems in web apps
  • Using lean experimental techniques and a fail-fast & learn-fast mentality, building systems
  • Own the freedom to create anything from scratch or to use current tools depending on the needs of the market
  • Instead of depending on intuition, let statistics guide your decisions. Work well under ambiguity, and support lean experimentation

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • 4+ years of experience working extensively with React
  • Prolific experience working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other front-end technologies
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and state management libraries
  • Prior experience creating online apps that are responsive, dynamic, and user-friendly
  • Extensive knowledge of the process of moving an idea from conception to manufacturing after prototyping
  • Solid familiarity with web performance enhancement techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile development techniques
  • Demonstrable experience operating in a cloud-native environment like AWS
  • Thorough understanding of the best practices for software engineering, including version control, agile methods that are fail-fast, and command of the major programming languages
  • Ability to problem-solving efficiently while being self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Be a good listener, a team player, and a voracious student
  • Some understanding of Widget (Frame), Self-serve/admin panel, and Nest.js
  • Ability to change course and find ways to build new solutions using existing codebases
  • Acute understanding of what the customer wants and the energy to work quickly and iteratively in a startup environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
