Job description

Job responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to determine application requirements
Assess and prioritize client feature requests
Write reliable, scalable, testable, and clean code for Android applications
Build complex features and work with APIs & databases
Test, debug, and update applications while monitoring application performance
Coordinate with back-end developers and QA to ensure enhanced scalability and efficiency of applications
Contribute to the development of workflows and project schedules
Keep current with the latest developments in technology and suggest improvements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of Android app development experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Highly proficient with Java, Kotlin, and concepts like Kotlin Coroutines and Android Jetpack Components
Efficient working with Android basic components like Activity, Fragment, Services, etc.
Knowledge of profiling, memory management, battery or a CPU optimization
Strong grasp of architecture patterns like MVVM, MVP, and other design patterns
Effective knowledge of working with third-party tools, and libraries, like Retrofit, Dagger 2, RxJava, etc.
Fluent in English to communicate effectively with engineers and clients
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Stronghold on data structure, algorithm, and logical reasoning
Solid understanding of web service integration using REST, JSON, XML, etc
Knowledge of continuous integration and code versioning tools
Knowledge of conducting unit tests using Mockito, Robolectric, Junit, etc.
Experience in cloud message APIs and push notifications
Strong creative, technical, and analytical skills
Good communication and organizational skills
