Job responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions
Assist in the optimization of the platform for faster execution
Implement security and data protection practices
Identify and fix development bottlenecks and bugs
Contribute to integrating user-facing elements designed by the front-end team
Connect applications with additional web servers and maintain APIs
Experiment, design, build APIs, data storage solutions, and other engineering projects
Work with a wide range of systems and technologies and address complex challenges

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
A minimum 3+ years of back-end development experience using Ruby (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Extensive experience in Ruby programming, as well as Ruby on Rails and back-end frameworks
Proficiency in OOP and writing command-line apps using Ruby libraries, like Resque and RSpec
Hands-on experience with REST API design and services development
In-depth understanding of AWS and SQL
Expertise in code versioning tools, like Git, SVN, Mercurial, and testing tools, like, Jira, Cypress, etc.
Sound knowledge of server-side templating languages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zone

Preferred skills

Basic familiarity with front-end technologies, like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Working experience with AngularJS or BackboneJS
Familiarity with MVC, Mocking, RESTful, and ORM
Good understanding of Agile development environment
