Job description

Job responsibilities

Develop different solutions from scratch and work on existing applications
Actively analyze website performance and take decisions to make necessary improvements
Identify and fix performance-related issues
Write and maintain codes, tests, and participate in daily virtual standups
Understand complex requirements and develop executable sets for delivering to production iteratively while maintaining quality
Assist in developing designs and upgrading system architecture
Take charge of developing key features
Showcase essential values to help establish and grow a sound development culture

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience in back-end engineering focusing on RoR (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Extensive experience working with Ruby on Rails
Demonstrable experience in developing systems and software deploying clean APIs using gRPC or HTTP protocols
Sloid working knowledge of libraries, such as Resque, jQuery, and RSpec
Understanding of front-end technologies, like Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc.
Ample experience in building and integrating production-level services
Must have fluency in English to ensure effective communication with global teams
Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) with at least 4 hour overlap with US time zone

Preferred skills

Working knowledge of RESTful, ORM, MVC, APIs, and Mocking
Experience with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
Understanding of data center, server, and network infrastructure
Ability to upgrade Rails versions and split database models
Strong communication skills for internal and external collaboration
Fast learner with a problem-solving attitude
Familiarity with Agile methodology
