Job description
Job responsibilities
- Participate in complex SQL script development and validation
- Track all QA metrics including defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
- Design and code the data warehousing system to coveted company specifications
- Conduct preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data extraction
- Work collaboratively with both business and development teams to track and close errors
- Oversee database set-up for QA environment and collaborate with DBAs to implement privileges
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in ETL system development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Solid understanding of ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, etc.
- Strong knowledge of databases, like SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, and MSBI tools like SSIS
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, etc.
- Proficiency in analyzing transformations from DMS mapping documents and preparing SQL scripts
- Hands-on experience in BI report testing using Business Objects, Cognos, Power BI
- Fluency in English for effortless collaboration
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Profound experience in developing test plans and test strategy documents
- Good understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem
- Knowledge of Big Data system test with Hive or HBase
- Prior experience in tracking defects in QC/ALM
- Experience in agile software development methodologies
