Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Contribute to general database administration and maintenance procedures including upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Participate in designing and coding basic-level systems, programs, and interfaces
  • Assist in ensuring performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Build process and scripts for data migration and explicate data Integration/migration needs
  • Contribute to ETL architecture designing, load strategies, ETL mapping documentation between source and target data elements, etc.
  • Find and fix any processing issues and execute unit test plans

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL database development or database administration (rare exceptions for exceptionally skilled developers)
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft T-SQL programming and ETL (Microsoft SSIS) tools
  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft SQL server
  • Proficient with the Data Marts, Operational Data Store (ODS), OLAP, Dimensional Data Modeling, Star Schema Modeling, and Snow-Flake Modeling
  • Experience in generating SQL queries from given structure and Syntax, as well as addressing complex database queries
  • Strong knowledge of generating, debugging, and executing stored procedures
  • Expertise working with large, relational databases and data structures
  • Fluency in English for effective communication
  • Availability to work with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of popular cloud computing services like AWS, GCP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of multiple programming languages like Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, etc.
  • Working experience with C#, .NET frameworks, Oracle, etc.
  • Understanding of the practical application of NoSQL\NewSQL databases
  • Familiar with reporting tools, like Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects
  • Prior experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Good organizational and communication skills
