Job responsibilities

Analyze, design, and develop software solutions and test automation suites
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop applications using different configuration management technologies
Assist in ongoing maintenance, support, and improvements in existing systems and processes
Communicate with data scientists, business users, project managers, and other engineers to create effective software solutions
Explore advanced technologies and development procedures and share the findings with teams to ensure continuous improvement

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in software development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Expertise in one or more high-level programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.
Knowledge of code versioning tools, like Git, SVN, etc.
Excellent understanding of DevOps best practices
Experience in building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc
Solid understanding of test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
Fluency in English for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Experience in one or more technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Map Reduce, Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, Flume, etc.
Knowledge of build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
Experience in building and deploying infrastructure using cloud deployment technologies like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
Good understanding of Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to work collaboratively and in a fast-paced environment
