Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and develop software solutions and test automation suites
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop applications using different configuration management technologies
  • Assist in ongoing maintenance, support, and improvements in existing systems and processes
  • Communicate with data scientists, business users, project managers, and other engineers to create effective software solutions
  • Explore advanced technologies and development procedures and share the findings with teams to ensure continuous improvement

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in software development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Expertise in one or more high-level programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools, like Git, SVN, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of DevOps best practices
  • Experience in building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc
  • Solid understanding of test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Fluency in English for effective communication
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Experience in one or more technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Map Reduce, Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, Flume, etc.
  • Knowledge of build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience in building and deploying infrastructure using cloud deployment technologies like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Good understanding of Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a fast-paced environment
