Job description

Job responsibilities

Participate in complex SQL script development and validation
Oversee all QA metrics, including defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
Assist in the design and coding data warehousing systems to coveted company specifications
Conduct preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data extraction
Work collaboratively with both business and development teams to track and close errors
Supervise database set-up for QA environment and collaborate with DBAs to implement privileges

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3+ years of experience in ETL system development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Experience working with ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, etc.
Solid understanding of databases, like SQL Server, My SQL, Mongo DB, and MSBI tools like SSIS
Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, etc.
Hands-on experience in analyzing transformations from DMS mapping documents and preparing SQL scripts
Proficient with BI report testing using Business Objects, Cognos, Power BI
Fluency in English for effortless collaboration
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Profound experience in developing test plans and test strategy documents
Good understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem
Knowledge of Big Data system test with Hive or HBase
Prior experience in tracking defects in QC/ALM
Experience in agile software development methodologies
