Job description

Job responsibilities

Participate in developing end-to-end applications using Java tech stack
Write, review and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable Java code
Contribute to peer review of code to improve performance and functionality
Investigate, identify and implement the latest design and development processes for Java-based applications
Communicate with project owners, developers’ teams, and stakeholders to determine application objectives, features, and functionality
Recognize the performance and efficiency gaps, resolve the issues and come up with architecture improvement recommendations
Maintain thorough documentation of the development process, architecture, and standard components for future reference
Ensure delivering accurate, stable, high-performance, secure, and accessibility compliant software

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience working as a Java developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Experience in Spring framework, JVM, JSP, servlets, multithreading, synchronization, memory management, etc.
Hands-on expertise with CS fundamentals in OOP concepts, algorithms, and software design pattern
Solid knowledge of SQL, relational databases, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, web services, Angular, and ORM technologies
Experience working with Java, REST API, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS technologies
Prior experience in developing back-end systems using REST APIs & NoSQL databases
Fluency in English for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Sound knowledge of markup languages like XML and JSON
Strong understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery
Awareness of Amazon build tools
Knowledge of efficient resource usages
Experience about how to instrument software with real user metrics
Expert understanding of the entire SDLC
Team player with the ability to work without direct supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
