Job description

Job responsibilities

Develop, document, and maintain web-based applications
Collaborate with the UX team and build innovative, state-of-the-art applications
Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools
Utilize backend data services and contribute to increasing existing data services API
Follow up with all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, schedules along with technical and process issues
Maintain documentation of the entire development process, architecture, and standard components
Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a PHP/Laravel developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Excellent knowledge of Core PHP, object-oriented PHP, and Laravel 5 PHP Framework
Proven experience in writing server-side scripting in PHP
Hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and/ or database-driven websites
Knowledge of software testing using PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat, etc.
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, and experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, REST API design
Fluency in English for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Ability to follow best design and coding practices
Knowledge of front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, responsive front-end frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap), etc.
Experience in preparing design specifications/documents
Familiar with MySQL profiling and query optimization
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly enthusiastic about learning new technologies and delivering results
