Job description
Job responsibilities
- Work closely with the software development team to build all server-side logic of web applications
- Contribute to creating and implementing user-facing elements with the back-end
- Create efficient, testable, transferable, and reusable PHP modules
- Discover new technology alternatives and development methodologies to fix complex performance issues and architectural challenges
- Perform systems analysis and recommend changes in procedures to improve performance
- Assist in integrating data storage solutions
- Maintain communication between front-end and back-end developers for integrating new features
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in web app development using PHP (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS
- In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming paradigm
- Hands-on working expertise in PHP web frameworks like CakePHP, Codeigniter, Laravel, Yii, PL/SQL, etc.
- Proficient with the primary PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
- Excellent understanding of the fully synchronous behavior of PHP
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Well-versed in using code versioning tools, such as Git, GitHub
- Fluency in English for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Knowledge of integrating apps with third-party services using REST APIs
- Familiar with basic design principles for application development
- Knowledge of MongoDB and Querying Data is a plus
- Experience in integrating multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Ability to work with peers in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
– Strong analytical skills and comfortable dealing with a large amount of numerical data
