Job description

Job responsibilities

Analyze, design, and develop software solutions and test-automation suites
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop processing platforms using different configuration management technologies
Assist in ongoing maintenance, support, and improvements in existing systems and platforms
Communicate with data scientists, business users, project managers, and other engineers to create effective software solutions
Investigate advanced technologies, development procedures and share the findings with teams to ensure continuous improvement
Ensure to elevate technology and apply best practices consistently

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in software development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Strong knowledge of high-level programming languages including Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.
Proficient with technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Map Reduce, Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, Flume, etc.
Excellent DevOps focus and expertise in building and deploying infrastructure using cloud deployment technologies like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
Experienced in building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
Well-versed with infrastructure automation tools like Docker, Vagrant, etc.
Knowledge of build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
Fluency in English for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a daily 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Knowledge of code versioning tools, like Git, SVN, etc.
Solid understanding of test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
Familiar with scripting languages, like Perl, Shell, etc.
Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
Good understanding of Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to work collaboratively and in a fast-paced environment
